The Folk Club next Friday, 03 March 2023 has the theme
"Stormy Weather".
"Featured Artists" from Hückeswagen are "Tangoyim" alias Stefanie Hölzle (fiddles, clarinet, and vocals) and Daniel Marsch (piano accordion, fiddle, and vocals).
Tangoyim's specialties are klezmer, Yiddish songs, and tangos. The two are already old acquaintances at the Folk Club (first time in September 2011) and always inspire with their joy of playing and their rich and varied repertoire.
Traditionally, the evening will be rounded off by performances by local artists and an "outro" from Jock Stewart at the end. It is sure to be another varied, entertaining, and enjoyable evening.

Venue: Dotty's Sports Bar and Restaurant (public clubhouse of the Bonn Tennis and Hockey Club - BTHV), Christian-Miesen-Straße 1, 53129 Bonn (Dottendorf)
Covid 19: There are no restrictions, but it is of course up to everyone to wear a mask if they wish to. The mandatory wearing of face masks has now disappeared, but unfortunately COVID-19 has not, so if you feel safer, or simply more comfortable, wearing a mask then do feel free to do so. We will provide plenty of ventilation in the hall throughout the evening. Warm clothing will therefore do no harm. As always, admission is free.
***NEWSFLASH for FCB # 133 this Friday 03.03.23***
The press reported that the buses and trains of the Bonn public utility company and the Cologne public transport company will be on strike this Friday. According to the news, this is not the case for the main railway lines (DB and other operators). For those traveling by public transport, the "UN-Campus" stop on the Heussallee level is therefore a good option. From there it is not much further to Dotty's on foot than from the stops of the city railway, the U-Bahn or Stadtbahn, (Ollenhauerstraße or Quirinusplatz). So it is eminently reachable even if other public transport in the Cologne/Bonn area is on strike, Doors open for the folk club at 17:00 hrs. Come early and have a drink and perhaps a meal beforehand whilst also cunningly securing a ringside seat for the folk evening. There are of course also ample parking facilities available for cars and bicycles outside the Bonn Tennis and Hockey club and also along the whole length of the Christian-Miesen-Strasse.

14 April 2023 Yes, the date is not a mistake, because 07 April is Good Friday this year. Therefore, as an exception, we have to move to the second Friday of the month, as music is prohibited on Good Friday.

Die Spezialität von Tangoyim sind Klezmer, jiddische Lieder und Tangos. Die beiden sind schon alte Bekannte im Folk Club (erstmals im September 2011) und begeistern immer wieder mit ihrer Spielfreude und ihrem reichhaltigen und abwechslungsreichen Repertoire.
Wie immer wird der Abend durch Auftritte lokaler Künstler abgerundet.
Es wird mit Sicherheit wieder ein vielseitiger, unterhaltsamer und kurzweiliger Abend werden. Lasst euch wie immer überraschen.

Covid 19: Es gibt keine Restriktionen, aber es ist natürlich jedem anheimgestellt, eine Maske zu tragen. Wir werden den gesamten Abend über für reichlich Lüftung im Saal sorgen. Warme Kleidung kann daher nicht schaden. Eintritt ist wie immer frei.

Die
Presse berichtet, dass die Busse und Bahnen der Bonner Stadtwerke und
der Kölner Verkehrsbetriebe an diesem Freitag bestreikt werden. Den
Nachrichten zufolge gilt dies nicht für die Hauptbahnlinien (DB und
andere Hauptbahnbetreiber). Für die Anreise mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln
bietet sich daher die Haltestelle "UN-Campus" auf der Ebene
Heussallee an. Von dort ist es zu Fuß nicht viel weiter zu Dotty's
als von den Haltestellen der U- oder Stadtbahn (Ollenhauerstraße
oder Quirinusplatz). Es ist also auch dann gut zu erreichen, wenn
andere öffentliche Verkehrsmittel im Raum Köln/Bonn streiken. Die
Türen öffnen für den Folkclub um 17:00 Uhr. Kommen Sie früh,
trinken und essen Sie vielleicht vorher etwas und so sichern Sie sich
einen Platz in der ersten Reihe. Natürlich gibt es auch ausreichend
Parkmöglichkeiten für Autos und Fahrräder vor dem Bonner Tennis-
und Hockeyclub und auch entlang der gesamten Christian-Miesen-Straße.

Bitte merkt Euch schon einmal die Termine der nächsten zwei Folk-Club-Abende vor:
14. April 202 Ja, das Datum ist kein Fehler, denn am 07. April ist Karfreitag. Daher müssen wir ausnahmsweise auf den zweiten Freitag des Monats umziehen.
