Folk Club Bonn #136 Friday 02.06.2023 with featured artists Stefan Mönkemeyer & Johannes Epremian Theme "Countries & Landscapes / Länder und Landschaften"

Dear Folk Club friends,

this coming Friday, June 02, 2023 there will be the 136th edition of the Bonn Folk Club, this time with two featured artists:

Stefan Mönkemeyer from Dortmund is one of the most renowned German instrumental finger-picking guitarists. He already thrilled audiences at the Folk Club Bonn in October 2018. A repeat performance planned for April 2020 unfortunately had to be canceled due to the Corona events and is now being rescheduled. Great to have you back Stefan.

Johannes Epremian from our region is a versatile musician who is dedicated to the cultivation of Cajun music from the south of the USA. Cajun refers to a musical style of Americans with French roots, who settled mainly in the area of the mouth of the Mississippi River. He has already been to the Folk Club several times, among others with his Cajun formation "Le Clou". This time we can welcome him again as a solo artist following him headlining in October 2020 the first time that FCB met in the Harmonie in Bonn, due to the enhanced C-19 spatial distancing possibilities there.

Liebe Folk-Club-Freunde,

am kommenden Freitag, den 02. Juni 2023 gibt es die 136. Ausgabe des Folk Clubs, diesmal mit gleich zwei Featured Artists:

Stefan Mönkemeyer aus Dortmund gehört zu den renommiertesten deutschen Künstlern an der Gitarre. Bereits im Oktober 2018 begeisterte er im Folk Club Bonn. Ein für April 2020 geplanter erneuter Auftritt musste wegen der Corona-Ereignisse leider abgesagt werden und wird jetzt nachgeholt.

Johannes Epremian aus unserer Region ist ein vielseitiger Musiker, der sich der Pflege der Cajun-Musik aus dem Süden der USA verschrieben hat. Cajun bezeichnet einen Musikstil der Amerikaner mit französischen Wurzeln, die sich vor allem in der Gegend der Mississippi-Mündung angesiedelt hatten. Im Folk Club war er bereits mehrmals u.a. mit seiner Cajun-Formation „Le Clou“. Diesmal dürfen wir ihn als Solokünstler begrüßen.
