Folk Club Bonn FCB # 165 on Friday 05.12.25

 

Dear Folk Club friends,

December is here, and all Folk Club friends know that we can look forward to a visit from our Scottish friend Simon Kempston. This time, Simon is bringing his duo partner Paul Tasker, with whom he already performed successfully at the Edinburgh Festival in the summer. This time, the two will be presenting us with wonderful instrumental pieces from their new album ‘Tangled Strings’ under the title ‘Songs Without Words’.

The theme of the evening is ‘Big and Small Temptations’.

As always, the evening will be rounded off with performances by several musicians from the region.

Date: 5 December 2025

The music begins from 19:00 hrs until approximately 22:00 hrs The hall will be open from 5 p.m., offering the opportunity to enjoy a leisurely meal and drinks before the concert. Those who arrive early will also be able to sit in the front row.

Venue: Dotty's Sports Bar and Restaurant (public clubhouse of the Bonn Tennis and Hockey Club – BTHV), Christian-Miesen-Straße, 53129 Bonn (Dottendorf)

And,  as always, admission is free.

 

Preview:

-    For organisational reasons, the Folk Club in January has to be postponed to the third Friday of the month, i.e. 16 January.

Anyone who would like to hear more folk music will have the opportunity to do so after the Folk Club:

On Saturday, 6 December, from 4 p.m to 7 pm , Paul Tasker will be playing at Café Bistro Melody, Werftstraße 5-7, 53117 Bonn-Graurheindorf.  Admission is free, but there will be a collection for the artist.

der Dezember ist da, und alle Freunde des Folk Clubs wissen, dass wir uns auf den Besuch unseres schottischen Freundes Simon Kempston freuen dürfen. Simon bringt diesmal seinen Duopartner Paul Tasker mit, mit dem er bereits im Sommer erfolgreich beim Edinburgh-Festival musiziert hat. Der Abend wird wie immer abgerundet mit Auftritten mehrerer Musiker aus der Region.

Der Eintritt ist frei, es gibt eine Hutkollekte für den Künstler.
