Important notice for performers wishing to play at FCB # 154 on Friday 07.02.25

As the FCB # 154 will be the 15th Anniversary of FCB which premiered in February 2010 it will be run in a different way to usual, rather like how it was run at the 10th anniversary in February 2020. Here is John Hurd's 3SongsBonn reflection on that particular evening:

The theme for the FCB evening is "Migration, Celebrations and Delicacies" but as always the "theme" is never mandatory and I am sure that the temporal constraints will be the most overriding thought in performers' minds! Performers can send an "Email of intent" to the normal address, but the list set out on the evening for all performers to sign upon arrival, will be the only basis for the running order of the evening. Variety will certainly be the spice of life! Precision and patience are virtues. This is the way most English folk clubs operate. Once everyone has performed one song (or poem) then we start again at the beginning.

In the first half of the evening songs will be timed out at a maximum of two minutes for each song. There will be two lists for each of the two stages, so this will allow a smooth transition from one act to the next on both stages so there will be seamless performances throughout the evening. Don’t forget to sign yourselves in when you arrive in one of the two lists for performers available at each “stage”.

Tangoyim, instead of doing two spots in each half, will be doing the second half alone in a one hour spot, after the break. 

In addition to the folk club on Friday 7th of February, Christoph Thiebes and I will be playing in the first of the month Folk sessions on Thursday "A little bit of Folk and a Whole Lotta Blues", on 06.02.25  prior to the folk club, albeit amplified, in Kater 26.

Da die FCB # 154 das 15-jährige Jubiläum der FCB ist, die im Februar 2010 ihre Premiere feierte, wird sie in einer anderen Art und Weise als üblich durchgeführt werden, ähnlich wie es beim 10-jährigen Jubiläum im Februar 2020 der Fall war.  Das Thema für den FCB-Abend lautet „Migration, Feste und Köstlichkeiten“, aber wie immer ist das „Thema“ nicht zwingend, und ich bin sicher, dass die zeitlichen Zwänge bei den Interpreten der wichtigste Gedanke sein werden! Die Künstler können eine „Absichtserklärung“ an die übliche Adresse schicken, aber die Liste, die am Abend ausliegt und in die sich alle Künstler bei ihrer Ankunft eintragen müssen, ist die einzige Grundlage für den Ablauf des Abends. Abwechslung ist gewiss die Würze des Lebens! Präzision und Geduld sind Tugenden. So funktionieren die meisten englischen Folkclubs. Wenn jeder ein Lied (oder Gedicht) vorgetragen hat, fangen wir wieder von vorne an.

In der ersten Hälfte des Abends werden die Lieder auf maximal zwei Minuten pro Lied begrenzt. Es wird zwei Listen für jede der beiden Bühnen geben, so dass ein fließender Übergang von einem Act zum nächsten auf beiden Bühnen möglich ist, so dass es im Laufe des Abends nahtlose Auftritte geben wird. Vergesst nicht, euch bei eurer Ankunft in eine der beiden Listen einzutragen, die an jeder „Bühne“ ausliegen.

 Tangoyim wird die zweite Hälfte des Abends nach der Pause in einem einstündigen Spot allein bestreiten, anstatt zwei Spots in jeder Hälfte,
