Dear Folkies

This coming Friday, 2nd October 2026, sees the 172nd edition of the Folk Club.

Our featured artist is Chris Ronald from Vancouver in the far west of Canada. Chris’s songs follow in the tradition of folk greats such as Neil Young, Paul Simon and Nick Drake, and are full of lyrical poetry combined with melodies that are a delight to the ear. The theme of the evening, ‘Longing’, is fully explored in his songs. 

As always, the programme will be rounded off by local artists. Come along and be surprised – enjoy the evening!

Here’s a summary of the key details:

Date: 2 October 2026

Start: 19:00 hrs prompt  until approximately 22:00 hrs. The venue opens at 5.00 pm, offering the chance to enjoy a leisurely meal and a drink before the concert. Those who arrive early can also secure a seat in the front row.

Venue: Dotty’s Sports Bar and Restaurant (Public Clubhouse of the Bonn Tennis and Hockey Club – BTHV), Christian-Miesen-Straße, 53129 Bonn (Dottendorf)

And, as always, admission is free

-    6 November 2026 Featured Artist: ‘Stereo Naked’ alias Pierce Black (New Zealand) and Julia Zech (Germany); theme of the evening: ‘Delicious’.

And one more thing: anyone who’d like to hear Chris Ronald again after the Folk Club will have the chance to do so on Saturday 3 October from 6 pm at Café Bistro Melody , Werftstraße 5–7, 53117 Bonn-Graurheindorf (free entry, donations welcome).

Information on travelling by public transport: According to information from Bonner Stadtwerke, trams are once again serving the Ollenhauerstraße stop.

Am kommenden Freitag, den 02. Oktober 2026 steht die 172. Ausgabe des Folk Clubs bevor.

Als Featured Artist hat sich Chris Ronald aus Vancouver im äußersten Westen Kanadas angesagt. Chris‘ Lieder stehen in der Tradition von Folk-Größen wie Neil Young, Paul Simon, Nick Drake usw. und sind voller lyrischer Poesie kombiniert mit Melodien, die das Ohr beglücken. Das Thema des Abends „Sehnsucht“ wird von seinen Liedern in vollem Umfang bedient.

Abgerundet wird das Programm wie immer durch regionale Künstler.

Information zur Anreise mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln:Nach den Informationen der Bonner Stadtwerke wird die Haltestelle Ollenhauerstraße wieder mit Stadtbahnen angefahren.
