Ogden Nash [1902-1971] was born in the USA and was a writer of children's books and a poet infamous for his short pithy poems suitable for children of all ages. We had a couple at the January folk club:
Behold the duck.
It does not cluck.
A cluck it lacks.
It quacks.
It is specially fond
Of a puddle or pond.
When it dines or sups,
It bottoms ups.
Ogden Nash
and
The cow is of the bovine ilk;
One end is moo, the other, milk.
Ogden Nash
