Well,
2023 has left us all a little buffeted, but for the most part still
alive and kicking. We sincerely wish for all you readers and listeners a happy,
healthy, musical, safe and peaceful and even possibly prosperous New
Year in 2024.
Given
the right conditions, light and warmth and heat can survive even
within the confines of ice and snow, sometimes, in the dark, and even amongst the Bonnie Blooming Heather, the unexpected can sometimes
prevail.
Remember,
even if all of your dreams and aspirations do not come to fruition or
are realised quite just as you wished, well whatever, even in the
worst case scenario, you at least have the framework for a
potentially good new song. „Out of adversity, comes opportunity“,
as the old prophets and sages do say!
As
you all know at the folk club we don't do politics, but we do history
passionately. So let us hope that the new year will not cause
anything to change with the historic accuracy of the term „former
President Trump“.
