Eva Henneken, featured in this local newspaper article, is a regular contributor to Folk Club Bonn since her return to Bonn as a fiddler extraordinaire, following her sojourn in New Zealand. She has been using the lockdown to improve her considerable songwriting skills. I once wrote what I thought was a passable poem about an extraordinary migratory bird known as a swift (Mauersegler) which is now visibly and audibly present in large numbers in the skies over Bonn and Eva has turned it into a wonderful song about swifts. So thank you for that Eva! Just in case you were wondering if Eva had problems with her pedal extremities as can be seen at the bottom of the above photo, I can assure you that she does not. The feet that you can see actually belong to John Hay, which reminds me of an old Fats Waller song:
(Sorry about that John Hay. I just couldn't resist it!)

Paul O'Brien used to be an English teacher in Birmingham, England.
Coming back on a European tour he visited Folk Club Bonn #56 on 06.03.2016
as you can see here:
Recently Paul like many musicians not able to play live gigs has been dealing with lockdowns by being active on YouTube and revisiting his back catologue of fine songs from his previous collection of CDs.
This particular one is # 22 and is entitled "Voyager" in a row of
Songs From The Window and you can check out the others on YouTube
life goes invariably on, and while everything is not perfect, there are some good positive signs on the horizon.
My 25 Years in Music:
Someone who was born in Canada and now lives in Berlin has recently posted a YouTube video celebrating his first 25 years in music.
David Blair first visited Folk Club Bonn in Haus Mühlestumpe at FCB #55 in February 2015
and he went down so well that we booked him again for the following year and he performed at FCB #66 in February 2016.
He was next scheduled to appear at FCB#96 in November 2018.
He was due to visit us again in 2020 but unfortunately, COVID-19 got in the way of that one.
That wasn't going to stop David. When we told him that April 2020 had been our last "normal "folk club meet, but that we were intending to try and set up some kind of virtual folk club in May 2020 he immediately said I can send you a set for that no problem, and so he did!
