 Due to the ongoing Corona problems, we are changing the concept for next Friday. Instead of a regular Folk Club evening with numerous artists, this time there will be a concert exclusively with Simon Kempston from Scotland. Simon has been a "set" regular „Special Guest“ artist for December for ten years now anyway and has his appearance here in Bonn firmly on his programme. Last year, as we all know, the evening was cancelled due to the general closure of all events, but this year we are looking forward to Simon's new songs.

Important further info:

There should be enough space between the visitors. The team will decide on the basis of the respective situation whether additional listeners can be admitted. Listeners will be registered at the entrance.

 For a better assessment of the "crowd" and to facilitate the registration process, and to reduce queuing at the entrance, the organising team asks for prior registration at FCBonnlite at gmail dot com (of course with @ and .). On this occasion, people who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons can inform the organising team in advance (preferably with a scan of the medical certificate attached).

For all participants (including musicians) the following applies this time: Only persons who present proof that they have been fully vaccinated or have recovered and also have a rapid test with a negative result that is no more than 24 hours old (a PCR test that is no more than 48 hours old is of course also OK) will be admitted (2G-plus).

There is an obligation to wear a mask on the way into the hall and when leaving the seat. The mask can be removed at the seat. Of course, it is not forbidden to keep the mask on even when seated.

It is advisable to wear something warm - you know, because of the ventilation.

3. Dezember: Konzert mit Simon Kempston anstatt Folk Club Bonn

Liebe Folk-Club-Freunde,

wegen der andauernden Corona-Probleme ändern wir am kommenden Freitag das Konzept. Anstelle eines regulären Folk-Club-Abends mit zahlreichen Künstlern gibt es diesmal ein Konzert ausschließlich mit Simon Kempston aus Schottland. Simon ist ohnehin seit nunmehr zehn Jahren als Künstler für den Dezember „gesetzt“ und hat seinen Auftritt hier in Bonn fest in seinem Programmzettel. Voriges Jahr fiel der Abend bekanntermaßen aufgrund der allgemeinen Schließung aller Veranstaltungen aus, aber dieses Jahr freuen wir uns auf Simons neue Lieder.

Es soll ausreichend Abstand zwischen den Besuchern möglich sein. Das Team entscheidet anhand der jeweiligen Situation, ob noch weitere Zuhörer eingelassen werden können. Zuhörer werden am Eingang registriert.

Es gibt eine Pflicht zum Tragen einer Maske auf dem Weg in den Saal und beim Verlassen des Sitzplatzes. Am Sitzplatz kann die Maske abgenommen werden. Es ist natürlich nicht verboten, die Maske auch am Sitzplatz aufzubehalten.

Es empfiehlt sich, etwas Warmes anzuziehen – Ihr wisst schon, wegen der Lüftung

This fellow will not be appearing in Dotty’s on Friday,

his name is Rabbie Burns, who lived from 1759-1796 and is the only dead poet who still 2 1/4 centuries after his death, has people hosting sumptuous dinners all over the world in honour of his memory. Starting with a Scotch Broth and then devouring plates of haggis, tatties, and neeps with copious rations of malt whisky, just in case the boiling water has been insufficient to completely pacify some of the potential pathogens possibly present in some of the numerous ingredients of the haggis. After all, „it’s better to be safe than sorry!“ A Burns Night is typically begun with the host reciting The Selkirk Grace above.

If you’ve not heard of Robbie Burns, the Ayrshire Bard, you will certainly be familiar with some of his work and doubtless, most of you will have sung „Auld Lang Syne“ at midnight on New Year’s Eve to herald in the new year.

So, please don’t be disappointed if Mr. Burns is not present though. 

You will, however, be able to meet and enjoy the following gentleman though, and Mr. Simon Kempston, the wee devil of Dundee, is certainly a poet and lyricist and troubadour of similar stock, and Simon Kempston has a bit of history with the good folk in Bonn.

Simon started touring in Europe around a decade ago, just as Bonn folk club also began life, and there began a marriage made in, if not in 

 heaven, then at least, in Graurheindorf. Simon has played at every Folk Club Bonn in December since then, except in December 2020, when COVID-19 put a stop to his long run. In addition to now touring not just in Europe, but worldwide and notching up 150-200 gigs a year, Simon has also found the time to write and record a new CD each year ever since then.

In August 2021 we were very fortunate to be able to arrange a gig for Simon, thanks to the good offices of Sabine Kühne-Kaiser from KuKug as an integral part of „Music From The British Isles“ in a series of outdoor musical concerts run in collaboration with the Kleines Theater in Bad Godesberg, „Under The Cedar“.

Troubadours have experienced great difficulties due to the lockdowns of most indoor musical events over the last 20 months, and few more so than those musicians emanating from the UK, like Sean Taylor and Simon, who in addition to the usual COVID restrictions have also had to deal with the new Brexit restrictions, like visa restrictions, which are now affecting such musicians when touring in the EU with a vengeance. What was until recently taken for granted for such touring musicians from the UK is now turning into a nightmare on steroids at every turn. John Hurd recently ordered a CD from Roxanne de Bastion to be sent by post direct from the UK to Germany, and ended up being stumped for duty „handling“ charges increasing the original cost of buying the CD by over 50%! 

So, with all this in mind, and also to reduce the evening, and thus the physical contact, to a minimum of time we decided to run this December 2021 event, not as a „normal“ folk club (whatever that might be!?!) but as a concert with just Simon Kempston and a hat, so that Simon can earn a modicum of money, to pay for his travelling expenses, especially as some of the gigs in Bavaria and Saxony have been canceled due to further new COVID lockdowns in those states. So do come along and listen and enjoy him and also hopefully lighten the load of CDs which he would otherwise have carry back to Scotland, and they do make wonderful Christmas presents as who knows if the Christmas Markets will remain open all the way until Christmas? Luckily Simon has no board and lodgings to worry about,

as once more Detlef and Ingrid Stachetzki are extending Simon an extended stay with arm hospitality at their home in Graurheindorf. 

You will notice from the photo below that Simon has an upright tuft of hair on his forelock over his brow, which seems to be very much reminiscent of the curling sideburns of Robbie Burns in the photo at the top of the page here!

Now here is an interesting little aside, although Friday will not be a folk club event, but a concert for Simon, there was, and is, a small hangover from a „normal“ folk club. Gert Müller had approached the folk club in November to request if he could contribute a topical Christmas Story auf Bönnsch in December. It was decided, that despite the new „concert“ format, this wish should still nevertheless be granted. No one really knows when the next FCB will be possible, it may be January or it may even be June or July 2022?  A Christmas Story has a certain „sell-by“ date, so we decided that it could and should be allowed in December. One of the physicians on the FCB committee was concerned though, for the best possible reasons, that because Simon has been touring through Germany and because Gert Müller, is due to his age, in a high-risk group for COVID that it would not be advisable for him to come into immediate contact with Simon. I thus called Gert and pointed this out to him, and even offered to voluntarily „Ban“ him in the interests of his own safety, either until the end of COVID or until he had been able to take a trip through a „Jungmühle“ in order to negate this high-risk factor.  To this Gert replied, „I have been vaccinated not once, not twice, but now thrice and I am old enough to make my own decisions.“ He will also be obtaining a negative test certificate before Friday evening. Furthermore, as expected, once I had explained the current difficulties facing UK-based musicians during COVID and the fact that Simon has also become a father for the first time this year, Gert kindly declined any „take“ from the hat, as he is financially settled enough. Thank you Gert.

 Simon is indeed by his very nature, a troubadour, a travelling musician, and as such he has been performing every night at events which were either 2G or 2Gplus for the past three weeks, so he has had more tests during that time than most people have had hot dinners.  Going to an event in the 14th or 17th centuries in the Germanic lands when the bubonic plague was rife, where there was no vaccine available whatsoever would have been associated with a risk factor of possibly 50% death. The risk here is probably very much less than being struck by lightning or having a traffic accident on the way home. 

Enjoy yourselves and stay safe, and remember, „Life is dangerous in itself, no one has ever yet escaped it alive!“

Folk Club Bonn im November 2021 – endlich wieder an alter Stelle

Folk Club wieder im Saal bei Dotty’s vermittelt fast das Gefühl, es sei alles wieder beim Alten. Aber das Gefühl trügt, der Saal ist nicht einmal zur Hälfte gefüllt. Immerhin, ein Anfang ist gemacht und die Hoffnung … Oje, zu dem etwas verspäteten Zeitpunkt, zu dem euer Hofberichterstatter dies schreibt, sieht die Konzertwelt schon wieder wesentlich düsterer aus.

Aber mit welcher Nummer müssen wir die Ausgabe vom 5. November 2021 versehen? John Harrison, der unermüdliche Verfechter der Kontinuität, gibt ihr die Nummer 119 und schließt dabei auch die, nun ja, nicht ganz rassereinen Veranstaltungen ein, die seit dem letzten „richtigen“ Folk Club im März 2020 stattgefunden haben. Wenn der Meister das so bestimmt, wollen wir nicht meckern.

Der Abend war aber aller Ehren wert. Dabei muss man im Hinterkopf haben, dass an eine ordentliche Planung von Auftritten nicht zu denken war, da im Vorfeld niemand überblicken konnte, was im November möglich oder nicht möglich sein würde. Eine Veranstaltung im Freien, wie noch im Oktober, konnte jedenfalls nicht ins Auge gefasst werden.

Wie üblich eröffnete John Harrison den Abend, aber nicht allein – Allzweckwaffe und Virtuosin an der Geige Eva Henneken und er starteten mit einem schwungvollen Instrumental, einem (oder heißt es einer?) Celtic Air. Wegen der Corona-Problematik sollte der Abend ohnehin im Zeichen von Instrumentalstücken stehen. Davon wichen die beiden aber beim folgenden Stück ab, das vom tragischen Tod von Johns damals fünfzehn Jahre alten Freund Flan handelte. Eva konnte ihre Virtuosität beim folgenden Ragtime von Blind Blake ausleben, bevor John euren Chronisten auf die Bühne zerrte, damit er die Geschichte von Albert McTavish und seinem Kühlschrank – Ihr wisst schon, die Sache geht übel aus, der Mann bringt das falsche Gerät nach Hause und wird dafür von seiner Frau, einem Riesenweib, schlicht und ergreifend im Meer ersäuft – dem Publikum vorstellt. Die Aufgabe war, die Geschichte etwas weniger ausufernd als von John üblicherweise erzählt, aber dennoch vollständig und anschaulich darzustellen. Im Ergebnis hat euer Chronist vermutlich kaum Zeit eingespart. Die erzählte Geschichte ist nur das – für die Stammgäste gut bekannte – Intro zu einem nachfolgenden Instrumental, das als Duo noch mehr Feuer hat als allein auf der Gitarre gespielt.

Auch Mario Dompke hatte einige Instrumentalstücke im Gepäck, zwei davon komponiert von Jens Komnick. Zu „Ann Kathrins Walzer“ gab Mario noch eine kuriose Geschichte zum Besten: Der Komponist und Gitarrenvirtuose hatte in einer Konzertpause in einem Ostfriesenkrimi eine Passage gelesen, in der sich die Kommissarin namens Ann Kathrin beim Warten im Auto eine CD von Jens Komnick angehört habe. Besagter Jens Komnick war darüber so erfreut, dass er gleich ein Stück zu Ehren der Krimi-Kommissarin komponierte, das Mario mit Bravour präsentierte. Nicht minder virtuos geriet die Vorstellung der Instrumentalversion von „Gabriellas Sång“ (ja, so schreibt sich das auf Schwedisch!) aus dem Film „Wie im Himmel“. Die bezaubernde Bearbeitung für Gitarre stammt auch von Jens Komnick. Ebenso wie die beiden vorigen Stücke spielte Mario noch eine „kleine irische Fingerübung“ (Old Dan Tucker) auf der Gitarre mit DADGAD-Stimmung. Für den „Katz Rag“ von Stefan Grossmann griff er zum „normal“ gestimmten (EADGHE – was ist schon normal?) Instrument – ein wahrer Hörgenuss.

Hans Ihnen blieb beim gesungenen Lied und stellte uns ein Lied vor, das zur allgemeinen Befindlichkeit passte: „One Horse Town“, ein Lied über die Stimmung in einem na, ja, verschnarchten Kaff, in dem es wenig bis kaum Perspektive für irgendetwas gibt. Mit schöner Gitarrenbegleitung und seiner ausdruckvollen Stimme gab Hans dem Lied den passenden Rahmen. Nach „St. Francisco Bay Blues“ von Jesse Fuller hätten wir gern noch mehr von Hans‘ Musik gehört, aber leider hatte er nur die beiden Lieder dabei – Lieber Hans, es gibt hoffentlich noch weitere Folk-Club-Abende.

Harfe und Geige bilden einen durchaus aparten Duoklang und das ganz besonders, wenn zwei wirkliche Könner wie Uwe Jendricke und Eva Henneken am Werke sind. Ihre Stücke werden insbesondere bei Tanzabenden gespielt, die als Bal Folk bezeichnet werden und eher im westeuropäischen Raum angesiedelt sind. Den Beginn machten sie mit dem gemütlichen schwedischen Stück „Claras og Fredriks Bröllops Vals“, also dem Hochzeitswalzer für Clara und Fredrik. Schon schwungvoller kam danach ein Schottisch oder Rheinländer bezeichneter Tanz mit dem Titel „Le Canal en Octobre“ daher. „Roter Himmel, blaue Wolken“ war der Titel einer bezaubernden Gavotte von Christoph Pampuch. Aus der Bretagne stammt das Lied „Tri Martolod“, ein Lied über eigentlich drei Seeleute, aber es geht auch um einen der drei, der sich beim Proviantkauf auf dem Markt in ein Marktmädchen verliebt. Eva singt das Lied in bretonischer Sprache im Wechsel mit Strophen, zu der sie die Melodie auf der Geige spielt – zusammen mit Uwes virtuosem Harfenspiel ist das Lied umwerfend schön.

Passend zur Jahreszeit hatte John Hurd Tom Waits‘ Lied „Last Leaf On The Tree” mitgebracht und mit viel Gefühl gesungen und gespielt. Aus seiner eigenen Feder stammt das kleine Lied „Easter Shunshine“, das John für seine Mutter vor vielen Jahren geschrieben hatte. Anders als der Titel vermuten lässt, geht es auch hier um eher traurige Gedanken. Aber bekanntlich sind gerade die traurigen Lieder die schönsten – danke John!

Als kleines Andenken an unseren vor über drei Jahren verstorbenen Freund Dieter Faring, der im Folk Club als begnadeter Gedichterezitator auftrat, trug John Harrison das schöne Gedicht von Rainer Maria Rilke „Herbsttag“ vor, das ich hier gern einmal wiedergeben möchte:

Herr, es ist Zeit. Der Sommer war sehr groß.

Leg deinen Schatten auf die Sonnenuhren,

und auf den Fluren lass die Winde los.

 

Befiehl den letzten Früchten, voll zu sein;

gib ihnen noch zwei südlichere Tage,

dränge sie zur Vollendung hin, und jage

die letzte Süße in den schweren Wein.

 

Wer jetzt kein Haus hat, baut sich keines mehr.

Wer jetzt allein ist, wird es lange bleiben,

John hatte aber auch ein eigenes Gedicht zum Thema Herbst im Gepäck, das die graue Jahreszeit doch mit einem Schuss Farbe und Vertrauen in die Zukunft beschreibt:

Nach so viel Erdenschwere und auch traurigen Gedanken kamen die beiden nächsten Musiker mit ihren Gitarren gerade recht. Thomas Monnerjahn traf vor etlichen Jahren als Begleitmusiker in Ana Maria Leistikows Band Astatine auf den Folk Club – er ist dem Folk Club treu geblieben und begeistert immer wieder mit seiner Virtuosität. John Harrison hatte ihn zwei Tage zuvor angerufen und gebeten, im Folk Club aufztreten – und Thomas hatte zugesagt. Das nennt man Selbstvertrauen! Diesmal griff er in die eher klassische Kiste: Rodrigo Rieras „Praeludio Criollo“ ist allerdings nicht etwas für so nebenbei – aber Thomas hat es sozusagen im Repertoire – fantastisch. Auch Bachs Präludium in d moll rief Begeisterung hervor. Warum Thomas es nach eigenem Bekunden möglichst vermeidet, in der Öffentlichkeit Bach zu spielen, begreifen wir nach diesem Vortrag nicht. Zum Abschluss seines Soloauftritts gönnte uns Thomas noch ein weiteres kleines Bachsches Präludium – ein Genuss. Was bekommen wir denn zu hören, wenn Thomas sich, wie angekündigt besser vorbereitet?

Als kleine Steigerung gesellte sich zum einen Virtuosen mit Werner Krotz-Vogel der nächste. Kleine Anmerkung: Die beiden haben sich im Folk Club kennengelernt und bilden nun ein geniales Gespann. Jetzt ging’s ab in die Jazz- und Lateinamerikaecke: „Bossa Dorado“, der Gypsy-Swing-Standard von Dorado Schmitt war genau das richtige für die Beiden, denen es offenbar vom Start weg einerlei war, wer nun die „Begleitung“ und wer das „Solo“ spielen sollte, sie wechselten sich einfach ab – und wie. Es war ein Feuerwerk der Spielfreude. „Black Orpheus“ von Luiz Bonfá and Antonio Maria aus dem gleichnamigen Film braucht in der Interpretation der beiden keinen Vergleich mit namhaften Künstlern zu scheuen. Wer heute nicht gekommen war, hatte etwas verpasst! Leider endete auch diese Session.

Werner versöhnte uns danach aber mit einem Soloauftritt und stellte uns das Stück „Become One“ von seiner neuen CD „Soul Kiss“ vor. Da er keine elektronische Unterstützung benutzen durfte, mit der er ansonsten die zweite Gitarre eingespielt hätte, packte er mal eben zwei Gitarren in sein Solospiel – so einfach ist das für einen Profi. Wir fragen uns: Wenn das so geht, und es geht fantastisch, was soll das ganze Gerummel mit der Elektronik dann? Die Zuhörer waren gebannt und genossen Werners wunderbare Komposition in der Unmittelbarkeit des rein akustischen Spiels. Einer ging noch zum Schluss: „Hot Chocolate“, ein Ragtime von Malvin Franklin und Arthur Lange von 1908 in einer Version für Gitarre, die ebenfalls auf Werners CD „Soul Kiss“ zu hören ist – Leute, die müsst ihr kaufen. Nun ja, ein bisschen Werbung für unsere Barden müssen wir schon machen.

Damit war der Abend natürlich nicht ganz zu Ende, denn dem ollen Schotten Jock Stewart musste noch – nicht ganz Corona-konform – mittels Gemeindegesang gehuldigt werden.

Wir hoffen auf ein Wiedersehen am 3. Dezember mit unserem treuen Gefolgsmann Simon Kempston aus Edinburgh.

How Lucky We Are! FCB # 119

Our own Elena Giovio put in a sterling evening's altruistic work at the folk club in Dotty's bar last Friday, ensuring that the room was sufficiently and frequently ventilated Thanks for that Elena! This was the first folk club that we have held indoors at Dotty's since March 2020 when corona struck. We had limited admission to only 50 people (on our own account as virtually all government restrictions and recomendations for event organisers seem to have been completely dismantled on the alter of normality)and with 2G certification, as the previous outdoor events had been with 3G certification, but by herding people indoors from the relative safety of outdoors, 2G seemed to be a sensible further precaution for the audience, which surprisingly riled some dedicated anti-vaxxers. Thanks to my E-mail asking people NOT to come if they were in any doutbt at all, only 30 people applied, so it was all the better for that, and all the more cosy too. Thanks to Elena's efforts with the ventilation and the fact that most of the performers indeed chose to play instrumentals rather than to sing songs and with only 30 people, it turned out to be not only a very safe environment but one very rich in musical pleasure. Part of that pleasure was provided by John Hurd himself with one of his own songs which he had been quietly ageing for 40 years, before finally giving it a public airing, and even a Tom Waits song, for which I have never been able to muster sufficient courage to perform. Well done and many thanks John Hurd! You are one of the unsung heroes who keep Bonn Folk Club going and sailing on an even keel through the very difficult waters of 2020 and 2021.

Mario here had room enough to swing a cat in, which has not always been the case at the folk club.

Actually Mario Dompke is one of the truest folk clubbers joining us way back in Graurheindorf. COVID-19 has presented us with many challenges over the last two years. When we have had to adapt to unusual and difficult circumstances Mario was always in the vanguard, accepting adversity with a smile and a wink in his right eye, instead of complaining. He installed the spotlights in the Saal at Dotty's in next to no time and we used those on Friday for the very first time in 20 months! "The only way is for us to play outside?" "No problem, I'll bring my equipment." Playing predominantly "instrumentals" instead of mere "songs" i.e. poetry set to music, rather than the pure musical intrumental prowess that we saw from Werner Krotz-Vogel and Thomas together and seperately from Eva and Uwe earlier in the evening. Some baulked but not Mario, giving us unusually (Mario is a very talented singer/songwriter in his own right, and he normally writes and sings in German, much to Detlef's satisfaction. When asked if he could do 3-4 piecess as instrumentals rather than songs?, he readily agreed, not everyone can do that so readily apparantly. Thanks, for what you do to maintain FCB's survival Matio! ! We ran a limited programme at FCB#119 with predominantly instumentals,so there was actually time to sing Jock Stewart. As we promised earlier we allowed a break of ten minutes at the end for people to vacate the room before we started singing. It was perhaps a tribute to Elena's strict ventilation regime throughout the evening that everyone felt so safe and so not one person left the room, and so after a gap of 20 months the song depicting Scotland's most notorious cattle drover, Jock Stewart, graced these hallowed walls once more! It has become a tradition over the years that all the musicians and singers who have performed at the folk club of an evening, all come to the front and sing and play Jock Stewart together at the end of an evening and it was heartwarming to see this tradition continue once more, after such a long silent time. 2G COVID-19 NRW-rules applicable on the day

This means you have to either have been fully vaccinated twice already or after already having contracted COVID)-19 be officially cured and certified. You may of course also have a recent valid negative test certificate as well, but IN ADDITION to 2G certification, and certainly not NOT INSTEAD of! This applies to musicians as well as to the audience.

Before anyone starts moaning, if you do not wish to come on Friday, this is fine as, in the interests of safety, we are reducing numbers to 50 people only, so no need to feel obliged to come. Indeed, if you are suffering any symptoms whatsoever, such as sneezing, (especially incessantly), headaches, sore throat, ear pain, unexpected loss of taste and/or sense of smell, then it would be both very sensible and also responsible of you NOT to come at all.

Ventilation: there will be ample and sufficient and regular ventilation throughout the evening, following most floor spots, depending on their length. Many of you will have already attended our outdoor FCBLite meets on the hockey field, so if you again are dressed like that, but for indoors, you should be OK. You shouldn’t need an umbrella and oilskins, but a warm pullover and scarf would not go amiss. If, however, you have an aversion to draughts, or if you simply have a tendency to complain too readily, then we recommend that you do not attend, just stay at home by the fireside pour yourself a whisky, and listen to Mike Harding‘s two-hour folk, roots, and acoustic music podcast, which is linked on the FCB Blog, instead;

If you wish to come: reservations are mandatory, so please send a request: to FCBonnLite@gmail.com (and please do not just reply to this E-mail as that will usually become lost in all the normal FCB Gmail traffic!) if successful, you will receive a confirmation E-mail, which you should: bring along with you on Friday. The first 50 to apply will be able to attend. Please have your: 2G certification ready to hand on arrival, so that unnecessary queues do not form at the entrance. Please wear masks: until you are seated and observe distances from fellow members of the audience. If you feel more comfortable wearing a mask all the time, please feel free to do so.

Much of the music this Friday will be instrumentals, but there will be some songs too. If we do have time to sing Jock Stewart at the end of the evening, then those who have reservations about singing in public will have sufficient time to leave the hall beforehand.

So hopefully I’ll see about 49 of you on Friday. Do not forget that COVID-19 is not a laughing matter and do be aware that with breakthrough infections of vaccinated people, carriers can be asymptomatic and yet still be infectious for other people, especially unvaccinated people. The physicians in the folk club inform me that well over 90% of people currently in hospital in ICUs are those who have not yet been vaccinated.

Be good, be happy and stay safe and keep smiling through adversity!
(after all, that is exactly what we have had to do for the last 20 months!)

Originally scheduled for this Friday 05.11.21 was Juhana Iivonen from Finland, but his 2021 tour was another victim of COVID-19‘s wicked scalpel. I am happy to announce though that FCB Bonn will be the first stop on his 2022 European tour and you will be able to hear and enjoy this wonderful island of tranquility here again in Bonn Folk Club on Friday 04.03.2022.

So it really is all worthwhile suffering a few November draughts for an increasingly beckoning and rosy future for live music in Bonn Folk Club!

2G COVID-19 NRW-Regeln, die an diesem Tag gelten

Das heißt, Sie müssen entweder bereits zweimal vollständig geimpft worden sein oder nach einer bereits durchgemachten COVID-19-Infektion offiziell geheilt und zertifiziert sein. - sowie nach 6 Monaten eine Zweitimpfung ausweisen. Sie können natürlich auch ein aktuelles negatives Testzertifikat vorweisen, aber ZUSÄTZLICH zur 2G-Bescheinigung, und keinesfalls ANSTELLE davon!

Bevor jemand anfängt zu jammern: im Interesse der Sicherheit, für alle ist die 2G Regelung notwendig – gleichzeitig ist die Teilnehmerzahl auf 50 Personen beschränkt. Wenn Sie trotzdem nicht kommen wollen, verstehen wir das und da Sicherheit für Menschen, aber auch für die Möglichkeit zukünftig weiter Folkclubs im Dotty‘s zu haben Vorrang hat, bitten wir alle, die unter irgendwelchen Symptomen leiden, wie Niesen (vor allem unaufhörlich), Kopfschmerzen, Halsschmerzen, Ohrenschmerzen, unerwarteter Verlust des Geschmacks- und/oder Geruchssinns sehr vernünftig und verantwortungsbewusst zu sein und überhaupt nicht zu kommen.
 
Belüftung: Während des gesamten Abends wird es eine ausreichende und regelmäßige Belüftung geben, die nach den meisten Bodenflecken (Floorspots) erfolgt. je nach deren Länge. Viele von euch werden bereits an unseren Sommer FCBLite-Meets im Freien auf dem Hockeyfeld teilgenommen haben, wenn ihr also wieder so gekleidet seid, aber für drinnen, sollte es euch nichts ausmachen. Sie brauchen keinen Regenschirm und keine Ölzeugs, aber ein warmer Pullover und ein Schal wären nicht verkehrt. Wenn Sie jedoch Empfindlich gegen Zugluft sind beschweren Sie sich bitte nicht bei den „Lüftern“ – in diesen Fällen empfehlen wir darüber nachzudenken dieses Mal noch zu Hause am Kamin zu bleiben, sich einen Whisky zu gönnen und stattdessen Mike Hardings zweistündigen Folk-, Roots- und Akustikmusik-Podcast zu hören, der im FCB-Blog verlinkt ist.

Der Großteil der Musik an diesem Freitag wird instrumental sein, aber es wird auch einige gesungene Lieder geben. Wenn wir am Ende des Abends Zeit haben, Jock Stewart zu singen, dann haben diejenigen, die Bedenken haben, in der Öffentlichkeit zu singen, genügend Zeit, den Saal vorher zu verlassen.

Ich hoffe also, daß ich am Freitag etwa 49 von Ihnen sehen werde. Vergessen Sie nicht, daß mit COVID-19 nicht zu spaßen ist, und seien Sie sich bewußt, dass bei Durchbruchsinfektionen von geimpften Personen die Träger assymptomatisch sein können und dennoch für andere, insbesondere ungeimpfte Personen, ansteckend sind. Die Ärzte im Folk Club Bonn haben mir mitgeteilt, daß derüberiegwnde Teil der Menschen, die sich derzeit in den Intensivstationen der Krankenhäuser befinden, noch nicht geimpft sind.

Seid brav, seid fröhlich, bleibt sicher und lächelt auch in schwierigen Zeiten!
(schließlich ist es genau das, was wir in den letzten 20 Monaten tun mußten!)

Wenn der kommende Freitag ein Erfolg wird, können wir uns darauf freuen, daß unser regelmäßiger Weihnachtsgast, Simon Kempston aus Schottland, uns am Freitag, den 03.12.21 wieder mit seiner Anwesenheit beehrt.

Ich freue mich aber, Ihnen mitteilen zu können, daß der FCB Bonn die erste Station seiner Europatournee 2022 sein wird und Sie diese wunderbare Insel der Ruhe am Freitag, den 04.03.2022 wieder hier im Bonner Folk Club hören und genießen können.

Es lohnt sich also wirklich, den Novemberblues mit einem Sicherheitsgetränkten Folkclub zu erleichtern und in eine immer rosiger werdende Zukunft der Live-Musik in Folkclub Bonn zu sehen!
