This was a photo taken from outside, looking in, on Simon Wahl playing at an earlier folk club meet many years ago in Haus Müllestumpe in Graurheindorf. The green foliage reflecting through the window reminded me somewhat of the Green Man, and it was indeed in this same room that I had heard Martin Donnelly play and sing his wonderful song about, and also entitled, "The Green Man".
The Bonn Folk Club blog is, thanks to Barry L. Roshto, a historical document about the history of Folk Club Bonn, from its inception in 2010, and as it is Google based, it has very good search capabilities, of which some of you may not be aware. For instance there is a small window in the very top left hand corner of the blog and you can search here to your hearts content. Here one can find wonderful little snippets like this one:https://folk-club-bonn.blogspot.com/2013/07/simon-wahl-finger-style-guitarist-as-if.html
So don't by shy, do have courage and look things up if you are curious. A lot of altruistic hard work has gone into both the folk club and the blog over the years and it is all here at your fingertips. In my humble opinion, this is one of the wonderful things which has developed from the internet, the ability to acquire historical facts and data in minutes for things which in the last century and before required hours of painstaking research in public refence libraries.
Really, when one thinks about it quietly and calmly, "Why are there still dumb people around today?"
