Louisiana Red

At the last Folk Club meet John Hurd passed around a condolence card for the family of Iverson Minter aka Louisiana Red, which many of us signed. He recieved this reply:

Dear Friends,
We would like to thank you all for your condolences, flowers, cards and participation.
Words can't express our sincere gratitude. We hope you all keep Louisiana Red in your hearts, listen to his Music and always remember him like he was, a good friend, the best dad one can imagine and one of the best bluesmen of all times. Our special thanks also goes to all the musicians who drove or flew the long distance just to make this day very special for us. Thanks and God bless you all.

  1. Louisiana Red, the first colour of the rainbow.
Red was probably much better known in Germany, where he lived and toured more often, than in the UK so he was truly well honoured when Paul Jones dedicated more than half of his weekly one hour blues programme on BBC Radio 2 yesterday (12.03.2011) to him.

„Many thanks Red for being and seeing and telling what you saw in a clear and plain way that we could all understand“
