This is a sign which one often sees outside of inns and public houses and even town and village halls in England. It is Germany which is, however, renowned for being a country which is over bureaucratic! Any hostelry in England which wished its customers to enjoy a bit of revelry such as dancing, singing and making music, instead of just quietly quaffing a pint silently in the corners of the bar, had to apply for an extra "licence" from the local magistrate's court, in order to be able to do so. When we were applying for a licence for the folk club way back in 2010, we certainly knew we needed to tick the singing and music boxes, but we hesitated for a while before crossing the box for "public dancing"? In the end I finally ticked the third box, and lucky that I did, because one really never knows does one? and low and behold at the last folk club, this happened spontaneously and luckily we were covered for it!

Hopefully, Antje and Uwe will be returning early in the new year to regale us musically
once again with their melodic haunting soothing harp music as balsam for the soul.
