Next Friday, 06 October 2023, there will be the 139th
edition of the Bonn Folk Club.
This time the featured artist is
Johnny Campbell from Yorkshire in the North East of England. English
critics judge that he has "the spirit of the Folk Clubs in their
heyday in his veins". He is described as a "modern Billy
Bragg who is all about the struggle", as he represents the
history of the English working class in his songs. He is a keen
walker and rambler and is passionate about the right of walkers to freely roam
the English countryside, despite attempts by many landowners to

In
addition, there will again be performances by various local artists.
The theme of the evening is: "Beer, wine and other delicacies".

And another little hint: Already
next Thursday, 05 October from 20.00 to 22.00 Johnny Campbell will
perform at the pub "Kater 26"
(Römerstraße 26 in Bonn) (free admission, hat collection). Highly
recommended for all those who can't get enough of folk. The pub will
also be serving a good Pilsener Urquell and Czech wines.

Liebe Folk-Club-Freunde,
am kommenden Freitag, den 06. Oktober 2023 gibt es die 139. Ausgabe des Folk Clubs.
Diesmal hat sich als Featured Artist Johnny Campbell aus Yorkshire im Nordosten Englands angesagt. Englische Kritiker urteilen, er habe "den Geist der Folk Clubs in ihrer Blütezeit in seinen Adern". Er wird als ein "moderner Billy Bragg, bei dem es um den Kampf geht", beschrieben, da er in seinen Liedern die Geschichte der englischen Arbeiterklasse Liedern vertritt. Er ist ein begeisterter Wanderer und setzt sich leidenschaftlich für das Recht der Wanderer ein, durch die englische Landschaft zu streifen, trotz der Versuche vieler Grundbesitzer, dieses Recht zu vereiteln. Und noch ein kleiner Hinweis: Bereits am kommenden Donnerstag, den 05. Oktober von 20.00 bis 22.00 tritt Johnny Campbell im Lokal „Kater 26“ (Römerstraße 26 in Bonn) auf (Eintritt frei, Hutkollekte). Für alle, die von Folk nicht genug bekommen können, sehr zu empfehlen. Zudem gibt es in dem Lokal ein gepflegtes Pilsener Urquell und tschechische Weine.
