Dear Folk Club friends,

Friday, 07 June 2024 will see the 147th edition of the Folk Club.

The theme of the evening is ‘Starting All Over Again’.

In June we have a featured artist with David Blair. David, a Canadian from Vancouver, in the far west of Canada on the Pacific, has been living and working in Berlin for several years. David has performed multiple times at Bonn Folk Club, most recently in April 2022, when he delighted us with many of his self-penned songs. We are excited to see what new songs he will bring us this time.
In addition to David, numerous artists from the region have registered as usual with a varied programme. As always, let yourself be surprised and enjoy the evening!

Here is a summary of the most important dates:

Date: Friday 07 June 2024

Start: 19.00 hrs until probably 22.00 hrs. The hall is open from 5.00 pm and offers the opportunity to enjoy a cosy meal and drink before the concert. If you arrive early, you can also sit in the front row.

Furthermore, the ‘most important thing’: free admission as always

Preview for 05 July 2024:
Theme of the evening: ‘A Capella’, i.e. we particularly invite you to make music only vocally, i.e. without instruments.

And a little note: If you want to see and hear David Blair in advance, he will be performing the evening before the Folk Club, i.e. on Thursday, 6 June at Kater 26, Römerstraße 26, 53111 Bonn (admission free, hat collection). Also important: in the ‘Kater’ there is a well-kept Pilsener Urquell and delicious Czech wines.

am Freitag, den 07. Juni 2024 gibt es die 147. Ausgabe des Folk Clubs.

Das Thema des Abends lautet „noch einmal von vorne“. 

Im Juni haben wir mit David Blair einen Featured Artist. David, ein Kanadier aus Vancouver, ganz im Westen Kanadas am Pazifik gelegen, lebt und arbeitet seit etlichen Jahren in Berlin. David trat bereits mehrmals im Folk Club auf, zuletzt im April 2022, als er uns mit vielen seiner selbst verfassten Lieder erfreute. Wir sind gespannt, welche neuen Lieder er uns diesmal mitbringt. 

Neben David haben sich wie gewohnt zahlreiche Künstler aus der Region mit einem vielfältigen Programm angemeldet.Lasst euch wie immer überraschen und genießt den Abend!

Beginn: 19.00 Uhr bis voraussichtlich 22.00 Uhr. Der Saal ist ab 17.00 Uhr geöffnet und bietet die Möglichkeit, vor dem Konzert gemütlich zu speisen und zu trinken. Wer früh kommt, kann zudem in der ersten Reihe sitzen.

Thema des Abends: „A Capella“, das heißt, wir laden besonders dazu ein, nur vokal, also ohne Instrumente zu musizieren.

Und noch ein kleiner Hinweis: Wer David Blair schon vorab sehen und hören will: Er tritt am Abend vor dem Folk Club, also am Donnerstag, den 06. Juni im Lokal Kater 26, Römerstraße 26, 53111 Bonn auf (Eintritt frei, Hutkollekte). Auch wichtig: im „Kater“ gibt es ein gepflegtes Pilsener Urquell und leckere tschechische Weine.
